VIEJA ESCUELA
En 1991 entré por primera vez por la puerta que se ve en la foto. Eso fue hace más de veinte años, cuando Jim Lee y Todd McFarlane lo petaban en Marvel, y en la radio sonaban Nirvana y Chimo Bayo. Los sábados por la mañana me levantaba a las 8 y media para llegar a las 10 al curso de cómic, y en el descanso me compraba un bocata de atún en el bar de la escuela.
En 2004 volví a entrar, pero esta vez como profesor. Ya llevo nueve años impartiendo la asignatura de Storyboard y Lenguaje Audiovisual en la Escola Joso, y desde entonces habré tenido unos... no sé... ¿Trescientos alumnos? ¿Cuatrocientos? Puede que más.
Hoy he cruzado esta puerta por última vez. La Escola Joso se muda a un nuevo local, más grande, más moderno. Mola.
Las cosas que se van dan un poco de pena, pero siempre vienen cosas nuevas.
Ahora la escuela estará en la calle Entença 163, en Barcelona. Allí os esperamos.
OLD SCHOOL
It was 1991 when I first walked through that door in the picture. That was more than twenty years ago, when Jim Lee and Todd McFarlane were making it big at Marvel, and Nirvana and Chimo Bayo were on the radio all the time. Every saturday morning I'd wake up at 8:30 AM so I could get to the Comics course at 10 AM, and during the break I used to buy me a tuna sandwich at the school bar.
I came back in 2004, but this time as a teacher. I've teaching Storyboard and Audiovisual Language for nine years now, and in this time I've had like... I don't know ... Three hundred students? Four hundred? Maybe more.
Today I crossed this door for the last time. Escola Joso is moving to a new, bigger, more modern location. Cool.
Things that go away make you feel a little sad, but there are always new things coming.
